Job Description and Duties:Join the mission-driven team at A Government Entity as we safeguard California's health and environment. As part of the California Environmental Protection Agency (Cal/EPA), A Government Entity is dedicated to regulating hazardous waste and overseeing the safe handling, treatment, and disposal of toxic substances statewide. In this role you'll play a crucial part in ensuring compliance with the legal requirements and supporting our efforts to restore contaminated lands. As an Attorney III you will have the opportunity to:
- Provide legal support on matters related to administrative, civil, and criminal enforcement actions, specifically related to the Santa Susana Field Laboratory Project
- Review inspection reports, penalty assessments, and other legal documents
- Draft administrative orders and civil complaints
- Develop and update Department enforcement policies and procedures in collaboration with other Department staff
- Review and analyze historical Department policies and procedures for present applicability
Desirable Qualifications We Look For:
- Environmental/legal subject-matter knowledge
- Applicable skills/training/experience
- CEQA experience
- PRA experience
- Public participation knowledge
- Organizational skills
Special Requirements:
The position(s) require(s) a(n) California State Bar License. You will be required to provide a copy of your license prior to being hired.
