We are an entrepreneurial, boutique law firm that is ranked both globally and nationally. We are a business-focused law firm that advises clients ranging from Fortune 100 corporations to start-ups. We are seeking an 2nd-4th year attorney with experience in one or both of our core practice areas: Privacy & Data Security or Advertising & Marketing. Experience in one of our core practice areas with interest in learning our other practice areas required.

This position requires exceptional organizational skills and responsiveness, an unwavering attention to detail and deadlines, drafting and negotiating expertise, acumen in legal issue spotting, and constant, effective communication with both internal attorneys and third parties in a fast-paced environment.
This person will work primarily remotely, however the attorney must live in and be licensed in one of our office locations: IL, DC, TX or CA.

Requirements:

Attorneys should be experienced in several of the following:

• Advising clients on Data Security and privacy compliance.
• Drafting privacy and Data Security-related policies and agreements.
• A deep understanding of numerous Data Security and data privacy laws and regulations.
• Experience reviewing and clearing marketing and promotions materials for advertising legal issues, including claims and disclosures for sales incentives, sweepstakes, contests, games, loyalty programs, and other marketing activities, as well as drafting related rules/terms.
• Experience working in all forms of digital media, including social media.
• Experience with social media influencer agreements and relationship management.
• Fluency in applying FTC law and guidance.
• Ability to draft and negotiate privacy (including DPAs), advertising, online advertising and/or technology contracts.
• Experience with subscription programs and auto-renewal programs.

General:

• Juris Doctorate and licensed attorney.
• 2-4 years in either Privacy & Data Security or Advertising & Marketing law.
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to identify and analyze issues and devise solutions and strategies.
• Ability to independently manage own workload while working in a primarily remote-work environment and ask for assistance or clarification when needed.
• Detail-oriented with strong, yet concise, writing, grammatical, and proof-reading skills.
• Conceptual thinker with excellent judgment.
• Can handle complex matters, with multiple initiatives occurring simultaneously.
• Entrepreneurial, business-minded and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
• Possesses the ability to exercise discretion and handle confidential client matters.
• Demonstrates integrity in all situations.
• 1500 billable hours required annually.
• Some travel for internal and client meetings is expected.
