Title: Athletic Director
Reports To: Principal - North Penn High School (NPHS)
Takes Direction From: Principal - NPHS
Calendar: 12 month
Summary: Provides leadership, guidance, and oversees all aspects of the district athletic programs. The Athletic Director is responsible for the planning, staffing, finances, facilities, community relations, booster clubs, and compliance of the athletic programs at the high school.

Title: Athletic Director

Summary: Provides leadership, guidance, and oversees all aspects of the district athletic programs. The Athletic Director is responsible for the planning, staffing, finances, facilities, community relations, booster clubs, and compliance of the athletic programs at the high school.
Essential Functions:
- Develops, implements, and evaluates interscholastic athletic programs at the district level
- Provides leadership for the district athletic program in coordination with the Assistant Superintendent, the high school and middle school principals and middle schools' Athletic Directors, including recommending policies and procedures relating to the athletic programs
- Coordinates the Suburban I League schedules for all high school athletic teams
- Prepares an athletic budget in coordination with the middle school and high school principals
- Initiates the recruitment and selection of coaches and makes employment recommendations to the principal
- Conducts all new coach onboarding and training regarding school, PIAA & Suburban I league rules, policies, and procedures
- Coordinates annual in-service trainings for all coaches regarding school, PIAA & Suburban I league rules, policies and procedures
- Supervises and formally evaluates all coaches annually
- Reviews, enforces, and abides by the rules and regulations of the PIAA, Suburban I League, and Middle School League, and inform the appropriate principals and the Assistant Superintendent of pertinent changes
- Monitors and communicates with the HS administrators regarding athletes' eligibility to participate in athletic events, including practices, open gyms, etc.
- Coordinates and oversees college signings for athletes
- Collaborates with coaches to coordinate college recruiter visits
- Collaborates with the athletic trainer to ensure that all athletes have completed annual physicals, release/hold harmless forms, and required registration prior to participation
- Ensures all coaches, complete necessary school testing, periodic CPR, first aid, and concussion training
- Ensures that all applicable laws and regulations relating to athletics are applied and followed, including Title IX and other federal laws and regulations, state laws and regulations
- Serves as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator managing cases involving athletes and athletics
- Serves as liaison or resource person for parent groups, events, and activities
- Represents the district, as needed, at Conference, Suburban I League, and state meetings for administering the interscholastic athletic program
- Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- PDE Administrative or Supervisory certification preferred.
Experience Needed:
- Previous coaching experience at high school level.
- Athletic Administration or related field experience.
Knowledge Required:
- Knowledge of PIAA and Suburban I rules
Requisite Skills:
- Strong computer skills, specifically with Google Suite
- Excellent written and verbal skills in English
- Demonstrate conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Abilities Required:
- Ability to supervise and evaluate athletic coaches
- Ability to develop, maintain and manage budgets
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, coaches, officials, administrators, and the public
