- Assist in preparation of equipment and supplies prior to the beginning of the program.
- Assist in the distribution and collection of program equipment and supplies on opening and closing days. Assist in the inventory of equipment and supplies following the close of the program.
- Participate in training staff members at orientation meetings prior to opening day. Attend weekly staff meetings. Review the calendar and special events for the week at each site. Make necessary announcements and communicate any general concerns to staff members. Attend all staff meetings as requested
- Provide daily general supervision for the program coordinators at assigned park sites within the city limit.
- Evaluate the staff members and the recreation activities at each of these sites. Motivate your employees and help them plan theme weeks to increase attendance at their site. Make sure each employee is following the rules and regulations as outlined in the Recreation Staff Handbook.
- Make daily visits to each park/gym. Complete the supervisor's weekly report: arrival/departure times; condition of play-area/play equipment; monitor wading pool and restrooms; observe recreation activities; monitor lunch service; journals; and make any necessary recommendations to staff members. Collect and review daily and weekly attendance reports, and daily lunch reports (if a lunch site). Work with the Park Foremen, of each park to ensure all maintenance problems are reported and safety of equipment is insured. Monitor and check all MSDS sheets as required.
- Check out supplies as requested by program coordinators: cleaning supplies for restrooms and recreation equipment or activity/arts/crafts materials from or Parks Warehouse. Make recommendations for additional requested supplies at least one week in advance to the Parks Program Coordinator for approval.
- Provide assistance at any park in response to radio messages: medical emergencies, animal control problems, police department, and the like. Complete the appropriate report forms for the Department.
- Maintain the Weekly Time Sheet for each staff member in his or her district. Review Time Sheets with each employee and have them signed prior to submitting to the Park Program Coordinator.
- Submits ideas for new programs or ways to improve existing programs.
- Attend special events and recreation programs. Please try to attend at least a minimum of one time a week per park and more if necessary.
- Provide general and specific supervision at special events and programs.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned
- Ability to operate computers for data entry and word processing.

- Ability to operate small office equipment, including copy machines, printers, calculators, various production machines, a cash register and multi-line telephone systems.
