Job Description
GrayRobinson, a full-service law and government consulting firm with 15 offices in Florida and Washington, D.C., has an opening in our Naples office for a Trust and Estates Associate with 4+ years of experience. We’re seeking a candidate that is experienced in the administration of complex estates and trusts, as well as tax and business succession planning for sophisticated and high net-worth clients.
The candidate should have a strong understanding and experience in:
- Researching, analyzing, and drafting documents for the implementation of estate and gift plans, as well as other gift and transaction documents related to planning structures.
- Florida Probate Code and Florida Trust Code, along with experience handling probate and trust administrations.
- Federal transfer tax rules and procedures, including the ability to prepare and review related tax returns (e.g. Federal estate and gift tax returns).
- Experience planning for family-owned businesses and life insurance structures - ideal, but not required.
- Charitable planning, including split-interest trusts and private foundations - ideal, but not required.
The candidate must have excellent academic credentials (LL.M. preferred, but not required depending on practice experience), along with strong drafting skills (experience with Interactive Legal Services drafting program is a plus) and strong research, writing, and communication skills. A desire to play a key role in a sophisticated and growing trusts & estates practice and continuously developing the candidate’s technical knowledge is required.
