Requirements / Qualifications
PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Associate Superintendent serves as the chief assistant and counselor to the Superintendent; he/she acts for the Superintendent, or on his/her own initiative, as spokesperson for the school district. The Associate Superintendent will assist and develop educational and administrative policies and programs for recommendation to the Board and will interpret adopted Board policies through rules and regulations. He/She will supervise, or cause to be supervised, the K-12 schools, instructional programs, instructional support services, and year-round school programs for the district. He/She will assist the Superintendent in working with both the educational community as well as other entities. The Board of Education designates this position as Management. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of: Models toward academic achievement, the instructional process, and program evaluation. Ability to: Interpret data, understand change processes, and implement meaningful change. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Teaching Credential, at least five years successful teaching experience, Administrative Services Credential, and at least three years successful administrative service (site principal experience preferred); Masters and Doctorate Degrees desirable. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: CA Teaching Credential Administrative Services Credential
