SalaryPosition Description: Empirico, a biotechnology company that combines unmatched expertise in human genetics-driven target discovery with world-class capabilities in siRNA drug discovery, is looking for a talented chemist with an interest in solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis and analytics. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly-motivated, creative scientist to be a vital member of our team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform solid phase synthesis, purification, and characterization of oligonucleotides and oligonucleotide conjugates
- Analyze, interpret, and communicate synthetic and analytical results
- Present results at group meetings to senior staff
- Troubleshoot and optimize current procedures
- Ability to multitask and work on several projects simultaneously
- Maintain inventory of reagents and consumables
Requirements:
- This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry with understanding of organic and analytical chemistry
- Experience working in a chemistry lab
- Experience with High-Performance Liquid Chromatography
- Desire to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- 1-7 years of relevant work experience, preferably in solid phase synthesis
- Experience with RPIP-HPLC, AEX-HPLC, UV, NMR, LCMS, MALDI, and HRMS is highly desired
- Analytical or purification method development experience using RPIP-HPLC and AEX-HPLC
- Applicants must have authorization to work in the U.S.
The estimated base salary range for this role is $50,000 to $120,000. Individual compensation decisions will be based on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills.
