Empirico, a biotechnology company that combines unmatched expertise in human genetics-driven target discovery with world-class capabilities in siRNA drug discovery, is looking for a talented chemist with an interest in solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis and analytics. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated, creative scientist to be a vital member of our team.
Responsibilities:
Perform solid phase synthesis, purification, and characterization of oligonucleotides and oligonucleotide conjugates
Analyze, interpret, and communicate synthetic and analytical results
Present results at group meetings to senior staff
Troubleshoot and optimize current procedures
Ability to multitask and work on several projects simultaneously
Maintain inventory of reagents and consumables
Requirements:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry with understanding of organic and analytical chemistry
Experience working in a chemistry lab
Experience with High-performance liquid chromatography
Desire to work in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment
0-3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in solid phase synthesis
Experience with RPIP-HPLC, AEX-HPLC, UV, NMR, LCMS, MALDI, and HRMS is highly desired
Analytical or purification method development experience using RPIP-HPLC and AEX-HPLC
Applicants must have authorization to work in the U.S.
The estimated base salary range for this role is $50,000 to $80,000. Individual compensation decisions will be based on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills.
