The Associate Product Manager is responsible for analyzing applications, gathering and prioritizing product requirements, and helping to manage the product roadmap. They will work closely with internal stakeholders, software developers, quality assurance, and support teams to meet business objectives and user satisfaction goals.
Successful candidates will be highly analytical, bright, dedicated, passionate about technology, and enjoy working with cross-functional teams. This position requires understanding existing solutions and developing new ones, documenting how the product works, and brainstorming solutions that match our users' needs.
This hybrid role is based out of our NYC office. Candidates will be required to be in office 3 days a week. #LI-Hybrid
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
1-3 years of product management or technical business analysis and requirements writing
Have an understanding of Agile methodologies and the SDLC
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; documentation, presentation, and training skills
Ability to communicate solutions at varying levels of technicality
Ability to work well in a team environment
Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
Ability to assimilate complicated issues, simplify them, and present alternatives to Project Teams, stakeholders, and MLB leadership
Reasonable technical understanding and an ability to translate technical requirements and specifications into easily understood business concepts and vice versa
An empathetic person who is adept at reading people and can understand our users
Prior experience with JIRA and Confluence is helpful
Knowledge of Google Tag Manager, Adobe Analytics, and content management systems
Experience in Customer Service, eCommerce, creating/building websites
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in technology, communications, marketing, or related field, or equivalent prior work experience
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead a small development team with the guidance of their manager
Gather and organize requirements into epics and user stories with detailed acceptance criteria
Align and prioritize requirements and deliverables with the product roadmap and product vision as set by senior management
Become the subject matter expert on the product(s)
Review past requirements and evaluate workflow improvements and changes
Be the first point of contact for multiple stakeholders for products in development as well as production support issues
Serve as liaison between the users, stakeholders, users and the internal engineering team(s) for questions and clarifications
Partner with UX and engineering to design solutions that are feasible and incorporate user feedback through multiple iterations
Assist with writing product proposals, training manuals, and product release notes
Become an advocate for the product(s) and present to the internal and external user base
Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is $80,000-$95,000.
