Job Title: Associate Producer/Content Production Specialist
Position Summary:
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is seeking an Associate Producer/Content Production Specialist to join its nimble and talented multimedia team. The team collaborates closely with stakeholders across the organization to create persuasive, relatable and engaging scientific and medical content programming across mission-critical Calls to Action (CTAs) for the Foundation's robust audiences of patients, families, and supporters.
Reporting to the Director of Multimedia, the Associate Producer/Content Production Specialist is a dynamic role responsible for strategizing, writing, editing, and producing live, virtual and in-person educational content that effectively conveys the objectives and promise of MJFF's scientific programs, patient advocacy, and research engagement initiatives to speed a cure for Parkinson's disease. This is an opportunity for a skilled content creator/producer who can quickly master scientific and medical topics, distill them for lay audiences and identify new, diverse, and important voices to feature in programming.
In this role, you should be capable of all aspects of conceptualizing, developing, and executing impactful programming and associated promotion. You will work with colleagues in Communications, Marketing, Development, Research, and the C-Suite, as well as external advisors and research and patient Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), to manage a high volume of deadline-driven multimedia and other forms of content including webinars, podcasts, event programs/agendas, talking points, scripts, blogs, emails, etc., as required to educate and engage the Foundation's community.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility for the conceptualization (i.e., monthly topic selection and research, panelist selection and outreach, talking point development, etc.) and production (i.e., panelist management, leading prep calls, audience Q&A management, slide deck and resource list creation, etc.) of our monthly Third Thursdays Webinars
- Participate as part of a core team - including marketers, writers, multimedia producers, etc. to strategically plan content programming on a quarterly to six-month basis, ensuring that the content promotes the Foundation's scientific agenda and varied CTAs to audiences of prospective donors, people, and families with Parkinson's and other lay audiences
- Collaborate with Marketing and Communications on the development of a range of content to support marketing plans focused on audience growth, engagement, sponsorship, and conversions to various calls to action
- Consult with research and development teams and other subject matter experts to source and vet content ideas and KOLs while developing programming plans with MJFF brand voice and framework
- Content topics, panelists and speakers should be sourced with a lens to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with the goal of making MJFF's resources relatable, practical, and engaging for the broadest possible audience of people and families impacted by PD
- Build relationships with internal and external KOLs to develop a comprehensive and familiar roster of experts who can be activated for live, in-person and digital engagements
- Work with members of the multimedia team to evolve live event programming to include innovative, high quality and on-trend formats and elements. Collaborate with colleagues to develop complementary content and promotions across webinars, podcasts, and other educational assets, developing a robust suite of accessible content and resources on any given topic
- Write, edit, and conceptualize content including event programming (including for our Parkinson's IQ + You event series), slide decks, remarks, keynotes, talking points and other collateral as needed
- Write/edit promotional content tailored to the needs of specific channels, including emails, social media postings, blogs, web content and newsletter articles
- Develop or modify content in response to breaking news or important advancements across the Foundation
Qualifications and Skills:
- 6+ years of work experience covering science, health care or related beats, preferably in media, communications, PR, or nonprofit settings
- Innate curiosity about science and related topics, and great instincts about content that will resonate with our audiences
- Fastidious attention to detail and proven ability to think strategically, distill complex messages and craft persuasive, clearly written material
- Experience in using webinars, podcasts, and events for the cultivation of community and to drive conversion towards action
- High level of comfort with technology and proficiency working across multiple digital platforms
- History of success in live event production
- Ability to successfully lead meetings with range of experts and direct live event programming
- Strong and effective in person, print, and online communication skills
- Top-notch project management, including proactive and collaborative development of work plans and timelines

Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000. In addition to salary, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (MJFF) offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
