Job Description
Adecco Medical and Science is hiring an Associate Patient Care Coordinator in San Diego, CA. This role will be hybrid. Please see below and apply with an updated resume for consideration.
Type: Two-month contract with opportunity for extension or full-time offer
Hours: 8AM - 5PM
Pay: $19.07 per hour
Specific Duties:
· Managing incoming specialty requests
· Reviews initial clinical information to determine if additional information is necessary prior to forwarding to reviewer and ensures consistent and timely flow of authorization process.
· Provides eligibility, benefits, authorization history information, prescription/order, clinical information, and health plan criteria to reviewer for decision making
· Interacts with other healthcare professionals verbally and in writing.
· Supports and facilitates teamwork within the department / group and the organization
Education/Requirements:
· High school graduate or equivalent required.
· Knowledge of medical terminology
· Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS codes.
· 1 year data entry experience
· 6 months + experience in the healthcare industry with preferred managed care experience.
· Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications.
· Knowledge of health plan benefits and Medicare guidelines
· Ability to manage competing priorities and work under significant time constraints
· Knowledge with Manage Care HMO plans and Medicare; processing referrals, checking benefits and eligibility.
