Salary Range: $2,000 monthly; (Salary will increase based upon performance and church growth. We are open to a bi-vocational or missionary supported applicant. This position has the prospect of transitioning to senior pastor in 5+ years.)

Family Heritage Baptist Church was founded in February of 2001 by Pastor Ernest Ruemenapp. We are an independent New Testament Baptist church committed to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. Together we are standing firm on the foundation of the Holy Bible. We are a family centered ministry; our church has different ministries whereby we are reaching out to children and adults with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our church also maintains a strong commitment to world missions.

Family Heritage Baptist Church is looking for a devoted and passionate Christian leader to join our team. The Associate Pastor's primary duty is to assist the Senior Pastor with a focus on shepherding the Youth and Young Families’ Ministry. This person will also share general pastoral and administrative duties that arise, and will need developed skills in teaching, preaching and pastoral counseling. The Associate Pastor leads the ministries for youth and young families and is responsible for the development and implementation of the vision, strategy, and tactical elements for the programs.

Hours: Full-Time

Essential Duties

• Serve as an active member of the church congregation by attending services, small groups, and church events
• To reach and connect with youth and families with the primary purpose helping them grow in Christ-likeness
• Support the Senior Pastor in the overall vision casting and leadership of the church’s teaching and weekend service planning, design and execution
• Oversee church staff, their responsibilities, and spiritual development
• Function as second/back up speaker to the Senior Pastor with an “emergency sermon”
• Provides Biblical counsel and guidance to individuals and couples as needed
• Facilitate weekly discipleship and or worship activities for youth including Junior Church, Children’s Ministry, Sunday School, and Youth Group.
• Create a welcoming environment for all visitors and new church members
• Ensure operations of church are running smoothly
• Visit church members in times of need
• Maintain a disciplined life of worship, Bible reading, prayer, and giving
• All other duties assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree required, M.Div. preferred
• In agreement with the doctrine and Statement of Faith

• Must be committed to making and growing disciples of Jesus Christ
• Exhibit evidence of Christian character in work environment as well as home/family life
• Give evidence of a spiritually balanced life (prayer, Bible study, rest, worship, etc.)
• Give evidence of a strong work ethic and personal with strong leadership skills
• Loyal to the vision and mission of the Senior Pastor

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $2,000.00 per month

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
