Job description

The Associate Operations & Strategy Analyst is a critical role that supports the fast-paced and high-growth ETS (Education Technology Services) business operating under Strategic Education Inc. This role empowers teams to make data-driven decisions and intuitively monitor performance by providing reporting, analysis, and insights that are clear and actionable. This requires a self-motivated and fast-learning individual that is both flexible and adaptable to ever-changing environments and priorities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with ambiguity, have a solution mindset, be a team player, and be passionate about using data to help the business make critical decisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboard, and visualizations to portray key metrics and trends to stakeholders (both internally and externally).
  • Assist in collecting, organizing, and analyzing large datasets to extract valuable insights.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support various departments and initiatives within the company.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to identify data needs and provide analytical support in a timely fashion.
  • Contribute to the improvement of data quality and integrity by identifying and resolving data anomalies and discrepancies.
  • Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards for all areas within ETS.
  • Communicate the results of ad-hoc requests and reporting trends to stakeholders in a succinct and easy-to-digest manner.

Job Skills:

  • Motivated, organized, and adaptable self-starter, comfortable in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and balancing multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with writing SQL queries to pull, organize, and analyze data from our data warehouse and other systems.
  • Experience with both structured and unstructured databases, ability to marry datasets from different systems and sources.
  • Experience querying databases to build data visualizations from enterprise data visualization software such as: Power BI or Tableau.
  • Possess advanced Excel skills (advanced formulas, pivot tables, charts), and the ability to learn on the fly.
  • Ability to construct test design and perform ad hoc statistical analysis to measure the impact of strategic business initiative.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com data and reports a plus.
  • Experience with python and BigQuery a plus.
  • Experience in ed-tech space a plus.

Work Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in an analytics/reporting role.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Other:

  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Typical office setting.
  • Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.
  • Travel via plane, car, and metro may be required to perform this job.
  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.
  • Access information using a computer.
  • Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.
  • Effectively cope with stressful situations.
  • Strong mental acuity.
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.
  • Other essential functions and marginal job functions are subject to modification.

$54,500.00 - $81,900.00 - Salary
