Your impact:
Hearst Magazines is hiring an Associate Motion Graphics Designer/Animator to join the Central Video Team. In this role, you will work closely with our Design Director and Executive Producers to create visually stunning and engaging Motion Graphics for a diverse range of projects, including YouTube video series for our brands, social media content, sizzle reels, presentations, and pitches.
We're looking for an individual with a keen eye for design, a commitment to visual excellence, and the ability to consistently deliver on tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
This position will report to the Director of Design/Executive Producer.

Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Design Director and Executive Producers to conceptualize, design, and animate Motion Graphics for various projects
- Create decks, infographics, and design elements for presentations
- Perform basic retouching on photos to improve visual quality and consistency with brand standards
- Curate fresh visual concepts and designs
- Manage and complete multiple projects under tight deadlines
Technical Requirements:
- Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite including After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop with an interest in 3D.
- Basic video editing skills using software like Adobe Premiere Pro
- Ability to work well in Keynote
- A keen eye for design with proficiency in animation and Motion Graphics creation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in motion design, animation, or related field
- Proven experience in Motion Graphics design (1-2 years preferred)
- Expert communication, organization and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- A passion for design and typography (must provide a portfolio of relevant work)
- Must be willing to work flexible hours and in-office as needed
- 3D Animation experience is a plus
- MUST SUBMIT REEL OF VISUAL WORK FOR CONSIDERATION
The base salary for this role is $64,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
