Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has multiple openings for Associate Mechanical Engineers (Liaison Engineering) or Mechanical Engineers (Liaison Engineering) to join our team of qualified diverse individuals. In Vehicle Engineering, we develop manned and unmanned aircraft platforms for all the programs in the Aeronautics Systems Sector.
These positions will be located in Palmdale, CA with the following work schedule:
- Monday - Thursday on a 4 day - 10 hours/day schedule. Alternate hours or shifts may be discussed
We are looking for Engineers to become members of our multi-disciplined teams responsible for providing liaison engineering support to our multiple programs. In your day-to-day activities, you will be working with subsystem installations and composite structures, performing timely dispositions for nonconforming parts, assemblies, and installations, as well as working as a part of a Material Review Board (MRB).
This position may be filled at either the AssociateMechanical Engineer (Liaison Engineering) or Mechanical Engineer (Liaison Engineering) level based on the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications for Associate Mechanical Engineer:
- Completed Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM discipline with 0 years of directly experience
- Knowledge of CATIA v5, NX, Visualization Pro, TeamCenter, MES, or other CAD programs
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. This clearance must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment. This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Basic Qualifications for Mechanical Engineer:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM discipline with 2 years of directly related engineering experience; OR a completed Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with 0 years of engineering experience.
- Experience with CATIA v5, NX, Visualization Pro, TeamCenter, MES, or other CAD programs
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. This clearance must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment. This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications for both levels:
- Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance
- Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
- Experience with the MRB process
- Experience working in an aircraft manufacturing facility
- Experience interfacing with a military customer
- Experience working hands-on in a production assembly line environment
- Experience with aircraft subsystem design
- Previous MRB/LE Authority for Engineering
Salary Range: $63,800.00 - $95,800.00Salary Range 2: $77,100.00 - $115,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
