We are seeking anAssociate Manager Quality to join our team supporting USSTC in Hopkinsville, KY.
You will be accountable for overseeing the daily manufacturing support responsibilities within Factory Quality Assurance and assuring all Quality Management System (QMS) activities performed by personnel are compliant with Altria's Quality Requirements, USSTC procedures, product/process specifications, related manufacturing and operational requirements, and where applicable, associated FDA guidelines and/or regulatory requirements.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
•Supervise FQA salaried personnel across manufacturing processes including development and implementation of short / long-term goals and objectives.
•Collaborate with cross-functional partners to evaluate and define project-appropriate quality strategies for manufacturing activities conducted to assure compliance with quality, regulatory, and business requirements.
•Support continuous improvement activities in productivity, quality, regulatory compliance, safety, and cost.
•Ensure conformance to process/product specifications by supervising the sampling, testing, auditing, and inspection of outputs from facility processes, and evaluation and acceptance of incoming direct materials.
•Responsible for performing batch acceptance for FQA activities and as required, perform batch release for facility.
•Evaluate and institute appropriate process assurance systems and procedures, monitor adherence to quality and regulatory requirements and perform QMS and sanitation assessments.
•Review specification changes and new product introductions, coordinate testing of changes to product components and processes, and assure QMS documentation reflects all changes.
•Assure production audits are performed for compliance and manage nonconformities through the Deviation, DMR and CAPA processes.
•Facilitate maintenance of Quality Management System (QMS) and training in collaboration with USSTC Quality personnel.
•Analyze process and production data and interpret established regulatory practices and procedures to assist in decision-making, developing recommendations, and providing direction and focus for continuous improvement efforts.
•Participate on cross-functional teams throughout USSTC and the Altria Family of Companies.
Education/Experience Preferences
•Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) is desired.
•Knowledge and understanding of tobacco industry legal, regulatory, and quality assurance elements are preferred.
•3-5 years' experience working in manufacturing, or related industry is preferred.
•Strong working knowledge of Quality Management Systems and critical quality processes
•Strong analytical skills, both qualitative and quantitative and be highly resourceful in detecting trends, problems, and opportunities for improvements from complex information
•Knowledge and understanding of various legal and regulatory requirements
•Ability to work in a team environment across multiple operations/functions
•Strong oral and written communication skills and experience with Microsoft Office Applications
