Position Title: Associate Manager, Omni Marketing DTC
Location: Chicago, IL
This Associate Manager Omni Marketing DTC role is an integral part of Newell's Outdoor and Recreation Business Unit. It is focused on acquiring and retaining consumers across Coleman, Marmot and ExOfficio direct to consumer platforms, using media strategy and tactical execution. We consider the consumer first and their shopping journey online & offline with seamless delivery and execution.
As Associate Manager, Omni Marketing DTC you will be a key driver of success for the brands' direct to consumer businesses and brand experience platforms. The buck stops with you, supporting day to day digital activation from concept to execution. This is a unique opportunity to develop end to end strategy to bring our brand vision to life through traffic driving investment (search / paid media), exploration of new / emerging channels through test and learns, and the ultimate user experience on our brand site. Additionally, you will be versed in sales data to incorporate priority into your plans and partner closely with DTC merchandizing teams to ensure that marketing is driving brand consistency while delivering our business objectives.
Put simply, your job is to get the right people to the site (highly targeted media and activations) and give them an amazing brand experience that brings them back and moves them from awareness to loyalty over time. You will live the brands and our purposes, and serve as a daily steward of the three brands. Our DTC sites are an essential piece of our brand transformation, and this role is essential to realize our goals.
Specific Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Define KPIs and goals for site and media marketing efforts
    • Drive and meet campaign objectives of new consumer acquisition, revenue, ROAS and engagement
  • Outline site ambitions and plans to deliver the ultimate brand experience (inspire and educate)
  • Translate global brand marketing guidelines & plans into.com annual calendars
  • Support the marketing campaign planning process and strategy development in accordance with overall brand site growth plans. Involves:
    • Paid Search
    • Paid Social
    • Email
    • Affiliate Marketing
  • Support a team of Digital Marketing professionals to execute and optimize campaigns and achieve clear objectives
  • Lead brief in process to develop Digital Marketing assets translating core brand messages to commercial and engaging online formats
  • Manage A&P budgets in accordance with P&L goals
  • Develop and manage agency and internal production / creative resource relationships including briefing process, media planning and negotiations
  • Establish close working relationship with primary media partners (FB/IG, YT / Google) to drive growth
  • Perform data analysis to understand and optimize site experience and media mix to grow sales and drive brand ambitions
  • Identify opportunities and provide recommendations to key stakeholders on driving incremental growth and profitability

The Candidate
The successful candidate will be courageous, compassionate, and curious - a future business leader with experience in a CPG or Lifestyle brands company.The person must have an established track record as a consistent performer of Digital Marketing or similar role. The candidate must have both strategic capabilities as well as be hands-on and comfortable with tactical execution and analysis. The candidate must be comfortable working in a matrix, must lead decisively, have a "no-compromise" approach to delivery, confront adversity constructively and possess a leadership style that engenders followership.
Key Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of Digital Marketing and/or Ecommerce work experience
  • BS/BA or University degree in Business or similar field, MBA a plus
  • Experience handling large media budget to drive demand creation process and campaigns
  • Proven success executing a comprehensive Digital Marketing plan that is integrated across multiple consumer touch points, including at point-of-purchase
  • Foundation of business acumen and analytical skills. Eager to learn how to develop key performance indicators to assess marketing investment that leads to conversion
  • Strong decision-making skills and an understanding of where projects fit into overall Company and category strategies
  • Ability to operate independently and bring ideas and solutions to issues raised
  • Interpersonal savvy; an ability to effectively work with and connect with all levels of employees across multiple functions and geographies
  • Experience working with Digital Marketing agencies and vendors
  • Experience with analytics tools (i.e. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics or similar) and familiarity with common marketing technologies
  • Experience working with brand CRM platform a plus
