Associate Manager - It Procurement

Overview
We are currently seeking a highly qualified Associate Manager of IT Procurement to join our Procurement organization in Richmond, Virginia. We are open to remote working arrangements. This candidate will be responsible for supporting technology procurement efforts to achieve the best possible value for Altria's Information Services Department. This role supports the process to select suppliers, negotiate contract terms, and ensure that procurement programs are implemented and functioning accurately in compliance with regulations and Company policies. Key Responsibilities:

• Developing and performing effective contract negotiation for the procurement of technology solutions in collaboration with the Law department
• Identifying and responding to customer technology procurement and sourcing needs and requirements, including performing technology market research and analysis to achieve efficient business value
• Preparing, issuing, and making supplier award recommendations with regards to technology sourcing events through Request for Proposals, Request for Quotes, and/or Marketplace Assessments
• Training customers on procurement, supplier management, and financial policies, procedures, processes, as well as related systems
• Supporting cross-functional business efforts and/or Procurement requirements
• Providing procurement consulting support to customers as they craft and introduce processes sought to re-engineer the business
• Preparing, analyzing, and presenting relevant data
• Providing technical procurement consulting to support project-oriented, cross-functional teams
• Supervising and training cross-functional resources

Qualifications:

• A Bachelors in procurement, supply chain, information technology or equivalent; MBA/graduate degree preferred
• 5+ years of proven experience in procurement; prior experience with technology-related (e.g. software, hardware, "as-a-service", etc.) procurement subject matter expertise strongly preferred
• Strong negotiation, influencing, and communication skills (oral and written), including a comfort with communicating sophisticated strategies and information to senior management
• Strong ability to read, understand, and negotiate contracts ranging from transactional to complex
• Project management and leadership skills required
• Strong analytical and business proficiency
• Procurement and finance systems experience (e.g., Ariba, SAP R3) preferred
• Procurement professional certifications (e.g., Certified Purchasing Manager "CPM" or equivalent) preferred
• Ability to accommodate travel up to 10% of the time
