The Avionics/Electrical Ground Support Systems team in Berkeley, MO is seeking a talented EE System Design Engineer / Systems Engineer to fill a position in Ground Support Equipment in support of F-15 (multiple customers), T-7, and other Air Force programs. This design position requires the management of total design, development, manufacturing and test of EW/RF Ground Support Equipment. Experience with Supplier Statement-of-Work, Supplier Coordination, and requirements tracing are all highly desired.
In the design phase, the design engineer responsibilities include interpreting and transferring design requirements into statements of work, ordering parts and tracking delivery to schedule, and guiding and reviewing/approving technical data packages. The manufacturing and testing phase duties include manufacturing tracking and issues resolution and testing planning and support.
Position Responsibilities:
Development and documentation of electrical subsystems and packaging of electronics
Performing system qualification tests to verify operational and functional requirements
Supporting the resolution of product integration issues and production anomalies
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
1+ years of experience accurately and productively reviewing, commenting, resolving and approving technical designs and data packages
Experience developing requirements for systems engineering processes
Experience coordinating requirements with suppliers and/or subcontractors
Prior communication experience, both written and verbal, with public speaking and frequent interactions with senior-level management
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience in avionics troubleshooting
Experience with automated test equipment
Experience working on military aircraft
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
