Revvity Omics, a division of Revvity, is a clinical molecular and biochemical laboratory offering a variety of different screening and diagnostic testing options. From prenatal screening before birth to newborn screening shortly after birth and whole genome sequencing through ones lifetime. Our goal is to provide valuable and insightful information about potential underlying genetic conditions, guiding patients and providers to improved health outcomes.

Our team is seeking an Associate Laboratory Technologist to join us in our efforts to serve patients and families around the world.

JOB PURPOSE
Performs clinical laboratory tests, procedures and analysis to provide data for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease in newborns.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare specimens for analysis and organizes tests to be performed.
  • Prepare and properly labels reagents required for laboratory testing.
  • Conduct analysis of dried blood spots or body fluid to determine presence of normal and abnormal components.
  • Review test results, maintains legible work records, and enters findings into the laboratory information systems.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on instruments and equipment according to established schedule and procedure.
  • Verify proper instrument function by checking and calibrating lab instruments and documents data.
  • Record on instrument log any repairs, replacement and maintenance performed on laboratory instruments.
  • Abide by laboratory safety policies and procedures.
  • The list of duties and responsibilities is not exhaustive and may be substituted as necessary.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree in a life or physical science discipline such as chemistry, biology, or medical technology.
  • 0-1 year clinical laboratory experience.


WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Schedule is dayshift Tuesday to Saturday.
  • Clinical and research lab environment; exposure to blood borne pathogens; must wear protective lab gear including lab coat, gloves and completely closed footwear.
  • Employee may be requested to work other shifts other than daylight depending on the needs of the laboratory.
  • Weekend rotation may be required.
  • Travel is not required.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use a keyboard, type, and occasionally stand and move to other parts of the lab.
  • Must have manual dexterity to use lab equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
