Associate General Counsel

Job Summary:
The Associate General Counsel will provide legal services and support to the company and its affiliates in a wide array of areas including contracts, labor and employment law, compliance, entity formation and governance, intellectual property, and international business.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department
• Oversees the daily workflow of the department
• Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
• Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assists in the development of company legal strategy to promote and protect the organization’s business interests
• Oversees the delivery of legal services and resources to accomplish organizational goals, strategies, and priorities
• Provides pragmatic, focused legal counsel on transactional matters, interpretation of contracts, applicable laws, rules, and policies
• Researches and analyzes complex legal issues relating to labor and employment laws
• Advises executive, senior management and operating business managers on various matters such as legal rights, and new and existing laws
• Leads the definition and development of corporate policies, procedures and programs and provide continuing counsel and guidance on legal matters
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of three to five years of comparable law firm and/or in-house experience
• Background in corporate law (contract law, transactional law, employment, and labor law)
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited U.S. law school with strong academic credentials
