Associate General Counsel
The Associate General Counsel will function as a key member of Schindler Elevator Corporation's legal team and must possess excellent legal and business judgment. This position will report directly to the Senior Vice President and General Counsel -Americas. The successful candidate will be able to work independently but collaboratively within a fast-paced, high-performance environment, providing legal advice and guidance related to a wide range of commercial and business matters.
Provide outstanding legal support to business partners (internal clients) across the Schindler organization
Handle Supply Chain, Procurement and other commercial vendor and customer contracts as a focus practice area, while ensuring that both legal and business objectives are met
Handler regulatory matters and provide legal support to Schindler's compliance department
Manage litigation in areas that include personal injury, commercial disputes and advise on risk mitigation matters
Complete special projects
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Minimum three years experience at a top law firm or in-house: plus factor for a combination of prior private practice and in-house experience
- Excellent academic credentials
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in one or more states
- Excellent judgment, business acumen, and ability to provide practical, solution oriented legal advice
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with team oriented mindset
- Generalist / broad practice area experience preferred with core competency / interest in Supply Chain, Procurement and commercial contracts
- Data Privacy, Protection and Cybersecurity expertise/experience is a plus
- Confidence and proven ability to work with senior management and company personnel at all levels
- Self motivated and highly proficient in the ability to multi-task, prioritize a high volume of diverse matters and tasks, and handle unplanned work
- Spanish language skills and experience providing legal support for companies operating in South America is a plus
