Summary
The Associate Director, Medical Affairs, is a multi-faceted, versatile, customer-centric, and experienced oncology professional. The ideal candidate will have experience working across several areas in Medical Affairs and will support on-time and on-budget deliverables. The Associate Director role will provide strategic input for and drive external scientific communications and KOL engagements to educate HCPs on Arcus’ oncology pipeline assets.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Medical Affairs lead on cross-functional teams for assigned indications/assets
- Coordinate and contribute to KOL engagements
- Lead Medical Affairs presence at key target congresses
- Co-lead content development for advisory boards, in-field medical team materials, and other externally-facing educational materials
- Provide input into broad Medical Affairs strategy and tactical plans
- Provide strategic and project management oversight of key projects, identifying issues and proposing resolutions, actively seeking solutions, and taking calculated risks, where appropriate
- Identifies and leads cross-functional business process design and improvements
- Tracks and reports department deliverables (KPIs, metrics, goals)
- Manage SharePoint site, generated presentations, minutes, for clear and organized documentation purposes
- Serve as liaison to medical communications agencies and other key partners as needed to ensure optimal project and deliverables management
- Participate in cross-functional teams to represent Medical Affairs, as needed
Qualifications
- Masters or Advanced (i.e. PharmD, PhD) degree in a life-sciences discipline required
- 7+ years progressive experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
- 2+ years of diverse Medical Affairs experience(s)
- Oncology (solid tumor or hematologic malignancies) clinical, research, or medical communications experience required
- Launch experience within Oncology or Hematology preferred
- Experience working in a matrix environment with other functional groups (e.g., Regulatory, Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Commercial) where consensus across multiple opinions and good working relationships are important
- Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to make appropriate decisions to operationalize and move key projects forward
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent planning, organization, and project management skills, including managing multiple priorities and projects with flexibility to changing priorities
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
This role can be based at our Hayward or Brisbane, CA location or can be remote based. The anticipated salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this position is $152,000 - $209,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay for this posted position. The actual salary may vary based on various factors including, without limitation, individual education, experience, tenure, skills and abilities, internal equity and alignment with market data.
