Central Plant Engineering (CPE) reports through Global Engineering Services (GES) Sr. Director.  CPE includes Lilly Technology Center (LTC) Site Central Engineering, Maintenance and Engineering Document Services, and Maintenance Information Services groups that provide various services to global sites at Lilly.  The services that CPE include civil and electrical engineering support; asbestos coordination; pest control coordination; project management support; Maximo data entry operations; and other GES functions.

The Associate Director provides leadership and administrative management, including direct supervisory responsibilities for a team (engineers, procedures coordinators, CMMS data encoder and other GES functions) and indirect supervisory responsibilities for asbestos coordinator, pest control coordinator, and contracted resources.  Organizationally, the Associate Director is responsible for a team of Lilly resources, network partners, and manages an operational budget.

Responsibilities

  • The Associate Director develops and leads the implementation of work unit objectives that align and support company priorities, organizational and customer business objectives and goals.
  • The Associate Director develops and leads the development and execution of business plans that will enable the department to achieve goals and objectives.  The business plans include resources, expenses, and capital projections as well as specific business initiatives for continuous improvement.
  • The Associate Director leads an on-going review of business processes and metrics to ensure operational effectiveness and drive improvements.
  • The Associate Director influences change throughout the organization and customer base.  Participate in strategic planning within GES.
  • The Associate Director must interact with quality personnel to determine future direction for the various business units in the department.
  • The Associate Director executes the PM process to align employee and business objectives, clearly identifies performance expectations, and establishes individual employee development plans.  The Associate Director provides coaching and feedback throughout the process that encourages success and professional growth.
  • The Associate Director develops and implements processes by building relationships with other companies to benchmark best practices, industry trends, technologies and capabilities.  The Associate Director creates partnerships with service providers to ensure technical capabilities and services are available that will provide consistent delivery of products and competitive pricing for our customers.
  • The Associate Director ensures compliance in Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental regulations, procedures, policies, and processes.  Participates in accident and near miss reviews.

Basic Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, facilities maintenance, and/or utilities operations with demonstrated skills and abilities in leadership required.

Additional Skills/ Preferences

  • Experience in pharmaceutical facilities operations recommended.
  • Ability to influence diverse groups and effectively manage relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Information

  • This position is for the dayshift.  Flextime schedules based on personal and business needs.
  • This position is based in Indianapolis, IN and requires onsite presence the majority of the time.
  • 0 to 5% overnight travel
