he Depar men houses he Delaware Ins i u e for Excellence in Early Childhood (DIEEC). he DIEEC suppor s Early Childhood workforce and programming services for children aged six weeks o welve years of age hrough he ransla ion of evidence-based prac ices o communi y-based se ings as well as he genera ion of new knowledge via applied research. he DIEEC serves he s a e and na ion hrough he provision of professional developmen for Early Childhood educa ors in family childcare and cen er-based childcare programs, echnical assis ance o early care and educa ion programs hrough Delaware's quali y ra ing and improvemen sys em, direc services o children and families hrough he New Direc ions Early Head S ar program, and applied research in diverse early care and educa ion se ings.
he Associa e Direc or, Early Childhood works under he limi ed direc ion of he Depu y Direc or, DIEEC. his posi ion direc s and leads he developmen and delivery of professional learning experiences for Delaware's Early Childhood workforce and oversees direc service s aff implemen ing hese effor s. he Associa e Direc or, Early Childhood collabora es wi h in ernal and ex ernal par ners o ensure effec ive delivery of services ha mee he needs of Delaware's Early Childhood communi y.

Major Responsibili ies:
- Adminis ers day- o-day opera ions of providing professional developmen and quali y improvemen suppor s o Delaware's Early Childhood communi y.
- Leads developmen , implemen a ion, and oversigh of professional developmen suppor s (e.g., rainings, coaching, echnical assis ance) for Early Childhood educa ors and programs in Delaware.
- Supervises and suppor s s aff providing professional developmen o he Early Childhood educa ion workforce.
- Leads and provides oversigh on hiring, rainings, and evalua ion of direc service s aff.
- Collabora es and ac ively con ribu es o DIEEC s ra egic planning.
- Collabora es wi h and serves as con ac for s a e, local, universi y, nonprofi , and priva e agencies or organiza ions o build rela ionships o s reng hen DIEEC visibili y and par icipa ion in he communi y.
- Serves as DIEEC liaison wi h he Delaware Depar men of Educa ion in he developmen and implemen a ion of Early Childhood da a sys ems.
- Serves as DIEEC liaison wi h s a ewide Early Childhood s ra egic planning eams.
- Remains well-informed regarding relevan program, s a e, and na ional research and uses o inform s ra egic planning and quali y improvemen effor s.
- Leads he planning and implemen a ion process rela ed o iden ifying and mee ing relevan deliverables of con rac s wi h s a e agencies.
- Comple es relevan mon hly, quar erly, and annual repor s and main enance of records for con rac /gran deliverables.
- Con ribu es o gran and con rac proposals o suppor DIEEC research and program evalua ion.
- Performs o her job-rela ed du ies as assigned.
Qualifica ions:
- Mas er's Degree, doc oral level prepara ion preferred, in Early Childhood educa ion or rela ed field, and five years of experience rela ed o professional developmen , echnical assis ance, and program planning in he Early Childhood con ex .
- Knowledge of adul learning principles, Early Childhood developmen , early care and educa ion se ings, and recommended prac ices for early care and educa ion.
- Supervisory experience.
- Experience in program planning, developmen , and evalua ion.
- Experience wi h e-learning pla forms and da a managemen .
- S rong oral and wri en communica ion skills.
- Experience in collabora ion and building par nerships as well as he abili y o in erac wi h a diverse group of individuals.
- Demons ra ed unders anding and considera ion of he differing needs and concerns of individuals wi h varying iden i ies, cul ures, and backgrounds.
