Overview

The Associate Director, Commercial Learning & Development, will be a key member of the Commercial Effectiveness organization, primarily responsible for the successful development, delivery and management of comprehensive training (i.e.: product, skills, and market access training). The incumbent will collaborate across multiple cross-functional teams, including Sales, Market Access, HR and Marketing to understand training needs and translate into actionable and enriching associate learning curricula and fostering connections among commercial associates. This individual is the primary facilitator for training classes, pull through of learning programs and skills training for sales specialists This position will be remote, but with travel required to Bridgewater, NJ for business needs

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with training colleagues, Sales, Operations, Marketing, Market Access leadership, and subject matter experts to implement results-focused, performance-based, standardized training and development processes
  • Develop, coordinate and execute comprehensive sales training curricula for use during training classes, meetings and workshops
  • Embody subject matter expertise to ensure confidence and competence in training individuals new to role
  • Coordinate and align across cross-functional leadership to ensure all training materials meet the goals and objectives of both Sales and Marketing.
  • Ensure training resources (e.g. materials, workshops, infographics/job aids, etc.) meet all regulatory, legal and compliance requirements for assigned individual projects and initiatives
  • Deploy and drive franchise and product-specific training to the commercial teams inclusive of selling skills, clinical disease state knowledge, competitor and market landscapes
  • Work with and/or manage agency partners, consultants and internal personnel to ensure the successful design and execution of assigned training programs and projects.
  • Proactively identify areas of opportunity across the training team
  • Work with Director and Sr. Director to assess and analyze the effectiveness of current training programs
  • Support the Director of Training with ad hoc training requests in preparation of launch
  • Identify and utilize innovative technologies to facilitate adult learning and pull-through of both live and virtual training capabilities
  • Effectively build partnerships across the organization (HR, field, marketing etc.)
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Pharmaceutical industry experience with a minimum of 3 years in pharmaceutical customer facing experience required
  • At least 2 years of sales training experience required
  • Rare disease / specialty / respiratory / infectious disease / antibiotics experience preferred
  • Product launch experience preferred
  • Experience leading new hire and skills training workshops require
  • Ideally has experience with knowledge of specialty pharma and market access dynamics
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • MBA or other advanced degree (MS, PhD) preferred
  • Proven record of success through teamwork and execution
  • Effective facilitation and presentation skills
  • Proven high performance with a track record of meeting or exceeding goals
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects
  • Understanding of budgets and management of agencies/vendors
  • Demonstrated ability to implement key learning objectives, strategies, and tactics
  • Lead without authority to drive results
  • Problem solving and solutions-oriented team player
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written)  
  • Solid understanding of adult learning principles
  • Experience operating within a highly complex cross-matrix environment; ability to connect and collaborate with key cross-functional team members including Marketing, HR, field Operations, Market access, Sales, Medical, Legal, Regulatory
  • High learning agility
  • Ability to effectively prioritize commitments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Power Point, Excel and Word and other applications
  • Ability to travel for multiple meeting engagements

Up to 10% travel

Salary Range

Insmed takes into consideration a combination of candidate's education, training, and experience as well as the position's scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required in the role, and external market and internal value when determining a salary level for potential new employees.
The base salary range for this job is from $139,000.00 to $195,200.00 per year
