The Position
This role leads a technical team that works on the design, development, delivery, and support of Web Technology business platforms and applications for Marketing and Patient Support teams at Novo Nordisk. The position communicates with the lines of business that it supports, prioritize critical business capabilities, and leads the team to provide the required technical capabilities to deliver business values that can meet business objectives.
Relationships
This position reports to Director of Business Applications in Information Technology and directly manages a staff of professionals, supplemented by external resources as required. Direct reports will include Application Architects, Project Manager and Business Analyst.
Essential functions
- Analyzes and fulfills business needs:
- Engages stakeholders to discuss the effectiveness of solutions and capabilities, and their impacts on business strategies and performance
- Establish realistic business objectives and measurable critical to success factors for the required solution
- Build in-depth knowledge of business functions, business processes and key objectives to develop solutions aligned with business needs
- Manages and adheres to mutually agreed upon service level agreements with lines of business and reports to stakeholders on system health conditions, project status, and system maintenance schedule
- Develops and executes it strategic plans:
- Identifies issues, opportunities and solutions that may be leveraged across business functions, and understands how they may impact other functions in the organization
- Utilizes extensive knowledge of the business and industry to participate in the development of functional strategies for area of responsibility
- Manages IT vendors:
- Fosters strategic relationships by communicating vision and organizational plans to ensure vendors are aligned with organizational objectives, and builds effective relationships with vendors
- Manages project plans or service level agreements and budgets to ensure that vendors deliver services within scope, schedule, quality and budget estimates
- Reviews and evaluates vendor performance (i.e. against KPIs and SLAs) to ensure that service is successful, and identifies areas for improvement for future vendor services
Physical Requirements
10-20% overnight travel required.
Development of People
Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process.
Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility.
Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.
Qualifications
- A related Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent relevant experience is required. Advanced degree is desirable. Additional certifications such as PMP or SAFE are beneficial
- At least 8 years of increasing responsibility in Computer Science, IT, programming/systems analysis or related fields with extensive experience in Adobe Experience Manager Platform Development, management and operation
- At least 3 years of management experience or cross-functional leadership for a team of AEM developers using Adobe Experience Manager best practices and solutions with related vendor and budget management experiences
- Experience with Agile development methods to deliver and manage multiple large-scale technology applications at the same time
- Experience in designing reliable solutions that follow required regulatory and privacy laws
- Excellent written and oral communication skill at all levels
- Ability to influence and advise management and stakeholders on advanced technical projects
- Ability to think strategically that turn business objectives into technical solutions for implementation
- Ability to communicate with senior internal and external personnel on technical issues
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, cooperative environment
- Demonstrated problem solver with the ability to provide technical solutions to a variety of complex problems
- Knowledge of related Adobe applications and their applications is preferred
- Knowledge of all stages of the project and system development methods
- Knowledge of operating systems, relational database architectures, query languages and interface, standard programming environments, data integration tools, application integration solutions, and web based information solutions
- Knowledge of testing methods and tools for web technologies
