The opportunity
The candidate will be a seasoned finance professional, with sound business judgment, knowledge of pharmaceutical markets, and a proven track record of performance. He/she will be operationally involved, market sensitive, and attuned to the urgency, pace and energy of the organization.
He/she will be a professional with proven analytical skills and the ability to lead the financial Business Planning of innovative brands, build relationships with the commercial/marketing teams and guide them in planning estimates, long range plan (LRP) and annual operating plan (AOP).
He/she is able to focus on the most important messages and feels comfortable presenting to executive leadership teams. He/she has a good understanding of planning systems and feels the urge to improve systems results by identifying risks & opportunities and developing and implementing the right strategies balancing the time and efforts required vs the expected results.
How you’ll spend your day
Responsibilities:
• Lead planning processes for the established brands as part of the U.S. Innovative Medicines portfolio. (~$700m net sales) – assure deliverables are submitted on time, challenge the business, identify risks & opportunities and build the narrative of the brand/s.
• Lead budget planning processes for U.S. Sales team – assure accurate budget plan is submitted on time, monthly accruals. Also challenge the sales team and identify risks opportunities for efficiencies.
• Analysis actual vs plan and present the performance result to executive management. Making sure the business drivers are clear and transparent to management.
• Act the financial business partner for SVP, head of U.S. sales.
• Drive continuous improvement of internal financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Support the commercial teams in evaluating marketing tactics to help grow the brand/s based on the brand strategy.
• Guides the commercial teams finance teams with clear communication of deliverables and timelines.
• Support the finance leadership team with routine performance updates (e.g. S&OP).
• Conduct and support ad-hoc analysis on issues as needed.
Your experience and qualifications
Qualifications
Experience/Education
• 7+ years’ experience in finance or related roles.
• 3+ years pharmaceutical experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent – preferred.
Skills
• Ability to work well in a fast pace changing environment and deliver under pressure.
• Ability to build partnerships with all levels of management and cross-functional business partners.
• Ability to manage and improve complex cross functional processes.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; highly motivated; positive attitude; organized, flexible.
• Excellent communicator orally as well as written.
