Associate Dentist Job Overview
As an Associate Dentist, you will join a team of professionals dedicated to providing excellent oral health care services to our patients. You will be a vital part of the dental practice, working with other dentists and staff to ensure that our patients receive the highest quality of care. Associate Dentist Qualifications
- Current licensure as a dentist in the state of practice
- Demonstrated expertise in all facets of general dentistry
- Ability to effectively diagnose and treat various dental conditions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build rapport with patients of all ages
- Proficiency with dental software and modern technology
- Working knowledge of relevant dental regulations and standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to continuing education in dentistry
- Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols
Associate Dentist Responsibilities
- Examine patients’ teeth, gums, and related tissues, using dental instruments, x-rays, and other diagnostic equipment to evaluate dental health, diagnose diseases or abnormalities, and plan appropriate treatments
- Clean and fill cavities
- Repair cracked or fractured teeth and remove teeth
- Provide preventive dental care, including cleaning and fluoride treatments
- Make impressions of patients’ teeth for study casts
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and nutrition
- Provide guidance to dental hygienists and other clinical team members
- Record and maintain patient treatment records
- Prescribe or administer medications to treat and prevent dental disease
- Perform corrective surgery or refer patients to specialists as needed
- Place dental implants
Education
Must have a DDS/DMD degree from an accredited dental school
Experience
At least 3 years of experience placing dental implants
