Job description

The Role 

The Associate Client Advocate works with and supports Natural Resources account leaders to manage overall client service delivery and administration throughout the insurance issuance and renewal life cycle. This position is a client facing role utilizing professional skills in Commercial Property and Casualty insurance to maintain and enhance large and complex client relationships while also insuring client profitability.

The Responsibilities

Pre-Renewal Strategy

  • Prepare and facilitate internal strategy meetings, including Program level oversight delivery and review of current program, expiring exposures, client service agreements, menu of services required and client service plan.   
  • Partner with Producer or Account Executive to facilitate and lead external strategy meetings.  Ensure in-session documentation is kept, and that meeting outcomes & next steps are finalized at conclusion.   

Information Gathering

  • Ensure updated exposures and coverage information in completed in a timely fashion. Provide guidance to Client Manager on completion of updated information and applications, and coordinate responses with various client contacts, locations and divisions.  

Loss History & Analysis

  • Oversight of Loss Run, Loss Summary and Experience Modification processes

Needs/Gap Analysis

  • Provide guidance as needed for review of client exposure updates and identification of recommendations for upcoming program coverages.

Proposal

  • Design program-level proposal content, and coordinate inputs of information from Broking and other resources. Participation in the proposal delivery meeting to lead program level discussion. Ensure documentation of proposal changes or decisions are communicated to the client as applicable.

Binding

  • Ensure that the Order to Bind is received from the client, and that the confirmation of coverage and binders are delivered. Provide guidance to the Client Manager throughout the binding process, including program subjectivities as applicable.
  • Oversight of Final Review with Client Manager, as applicable.

Invoicing

  • Ensure that the Order to Bind is received from the client, and that the confirmation of coverage and binders are delivered. Provide guidance to the Client Manager throughout the binding process, including program subjectivities as applicable.

Ongoing Services

  • Management and oversight of timely and accurate completion of endorsement and audit requests.
  • Responsibility to review, finalize and deliver retro adjustments.
  • Respond to mid-term client inquiries (i.e., policy and coverage questions) in Partnership with other services.
  • Provide oversight and guidance and/or complete contract reviews.
  • Oversight and guidance on the open items listings with clients.  Provide leadership and support for ongoing client projects, and subsequent reporting and analysis (i.e., Client Advocacy Report/Stewardship Report and Modification Factor review)
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings, seminars, and other engagement-type activities for clients.
  • Oversight of Final Review with Client Manager, as applicable.

Broking

  • Support the broking team by preparing submission and reviewing quotations and completing variance reports as needed.

The Requirements 

  • 7-10 years of commercial Property & Casualty insurance experience in a client facing role required
  • Property & Casualty insurance knowledge/experience required, with experience in Natural Resources, program management of large, loss-sensitive or guaranteed cost coverage lines, and/or global master programs. 
  • Ability to review and understand coverage questions and insurance specification of contracts.
  • Knowledge of insurance renewal end to end process
  • Demonstrate organizational leadership and influence with matrixed-colleagues like broking.
  • Applies judgement; directs and motivates other individuals; takes lead in small groups and promotes teamwork.
  • Relationship Management and customer focus – collaborates to serve clients and help resolve conflicts
  • Ability to effectively engage with carriers and clients to maintain renewal terms and existing business.
  • Able to work a flexible work schedule as agreed.
  • Customer and Relationship management focus.
  • Negotiation skills – ability to drive conflict resolution and secure concessions without damaging relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Problem solving abilities, including critical thinking and adaptability.
  • Project management skills, including attention to detail, organizational skills, prioritization and time management. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills and fluency with other relevant online tools. 
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must successfully complete appropriate licensing exam(s) and/or maintain required licensing by completing various Continuing Education activities as needed.  If already licensed, must be able to show valid confirmation of current licensing status.
  • Leadership and teamwork skills within Servicing function, to include delegation, coaching and mentoring.
  • Insurance industry designations preferred but not required (CPCU, ARM, CIC, CRM)

Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).

Compensation
The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $100,000 – $135,000 USD. This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
