The Science Diet Associate Brand Manager is responsible for supporting the strategic development and execution of annual brand marketing plans, new product innovation, and portfolio management to achieve short and long-term business objectives. Coordinating IMC (Integrated Marketing campaigns, 360 media, consumer, point of sale) briefs, go-to-market planning and execution, assessing critical issues, and recommending strategic and tactical solutions. Monitor and analyze sales volumes, market trends, digital and promotional initiatives, and competitive activity. Ensure consistent and effective brand messaging to the end consumer, and consistent consideration of RE (Retail Environment) - specific needs/tactics.

 

What You Will Do:

 

Brand Strategy (20%)

  • Support the development and execution of brand marketing plans for specific product categories.
  • Collaborate with retail marketing to develop the 6Ps for all brand marketing plans.

 

Go-to-Market & Integrated Marketing Communications (30%)

  • Project management of new product innovation, re-launches, updates, and promotions.
  • Coordinate the execution of brand marketing IMCs. Coordinate with Shopper Marketer to ensure all customer RE needs are accounted for in touchpoint planning.
  • Collaborate with CDO/sales analytics team to track 6P KPIs.
  • Collaborate with Shopper Marketing teams to scorecard RE specific action plans.
  • Identify & lead key “test and learns.”

 

Retail & Sales Activation (20%)

  • Assist in the development of creative briefs for consumer, shopper, sales, and trade materials for new & existing products.
  • Assist in the design & production of promotions and promotional materials, and handover to sales operations for final retail execution across all retail environments.

 

Insights & Analytics (20%)

  • Analyze data (sales, competitive, category) and identify key insights that can be turned into actionable marketing plans.
  • Develop a strong business and functional understanding of the category, our products, and the competitive set, and develop plans to address issues/opportunities.
  • Develop & utilize strong consumer & shopper insights of the category, market, and condition of focus.
  • Understand the pet specialty RE’s, and field team needs, to deliver strong promotional and marketing programs.

 

Commercial Planning and Monitoring (10%)

  • Support Long Lead Planning, Budget Review, and Mid-Year Review.
  • Ongoing monitoring and analysis of brand sales, volume, market share, promotional activities, competitive insights.
  • Recommend areas for brand improvement and remediation.

 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or Related Field
  • 4+ years of professional experience in brand marketing, retail marketing, trade marketing, or management consulting.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA
  • 3+ years of experience in CPG, pharma, or Veterinary professions.
  • Strategic thinking & problem-solving.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to uncover actionable insights in large datasets.
  • Digital/eComm marketing knowledge (paid search, digital display, social, etc).
  • Brand marketing knowledge.
  • Effective communicator.
  • Proven operational results.
  • Knowledge of Retail Environment strategy.
  • Influence without direct authority, negotiate effectively and build relationships with cross-functional team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 USD
Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.
Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

  • Insurance: Employees (and their eligible dependents) are eligible to participate in Company-sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Disability insurance plans.
  • Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate's 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements
  • Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually
  • Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually
  • Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year
  • Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
