Job Description
Company Description
Arns Davis Law is a plaintiffs' law firm located in San Francisco, with a national reputation for representing people in cases involving violations of their rights, catastrophic injuries, and wrongful death. The firm has a proud history of representing members of building and trade unions and continues to fight against insurance companies, banks, and other corporate interests that would infringe on clients' rights. The firm's attorneys have been appointed as Class Counsel by federal and state courts in numerous class actions involving labor and employment, consumer protection, and civil rights, and have been at the cutting edge of developing laws and appellate precedents relating to the protection of workers, consumers, and the public.
Role Description
This is a three-month contract for an Associate Attorney within the Complex Litigation practice area at Arns Davis Law, with an opportunity to transition to at-will employment after completion of the three-month contract. The office is located in San Francisco but employees observe a hybrid model, with a mandatory in-office Wednesday per week. Additionally, attorneys are expected to attend depositions, court appearances, inspections, etc., in person where necessary to provide the best representation to our clients. Similarly, attorneys are expected to attend professional development and trial skills development meetings in person at the discretion of the managing partner.
The role will primarily involve Complex Litigation (class actions, representative actions, mass torts, etc.), as well as some work in catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases, and will involve writing motions and briefs, attending hearings and depositions, communicating with clients, negotiating settlements, and assisting with case management and litigation strategy. Because the issues of law presented in complex cases are often issues of first impression, the ability to closely read statutes and precedents and think creatively in their application is strongly preferred.
