About McGill Law Firm: McGill Law Firm is a dynamic and client-focused legal practice with a strong presence in Nebraska. We are currently seeking a dedicated Family Law Attorney to join our team in Omaha. This role offers the opportunity to engage in meaningful litigation and mediation work, contribute to the growth of the firm, and make a positive impact on the lives of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Focus on family law litigation, including participating in mediations as skills and experience develop.
• Attend hearings for your cases and provide coverage for other attorneys as needed.
• Handle a variety of case types beyond family law, according to firm needs.
• Maintain client cases using Clio and manage files on the firm's SharePoint Drive.
• Adhere to firm processes and procedures, ensuring exceptional work product from case inception to conclusion.
• Engage in client intake, retention, and provide positive interactions throughout case progression.
• Meet all court requirements, manage case standards, and participate in client meetings and hearings as necessary.
• Review billing statements monthly and communicate with clients regarding outstanding invoices when required.
• Maintain excellent written and oral communication with clients and within the firm.

Requirements:

• Proficiency with Nebraska standards for family law.
• Ability to work set hours totaling around 40-45 hours per week, with availability during core hours (various shifts available).
• Minimum billing of 20 hours/week for the first 60 days, increasing to at least 27 hours/week thereafter.
• Participation in monthly update meetings, quarterly firm activities, and additional office meetings as scheduled.
• Completion of daily billing time through Clio and maintenance of an accurate calendar within Clio.
• Collaboration with the administrator to maintain current payment status on client accounts.
• Contribution to the firm's social media, blog, and newsletter content as requested.
• Active status with the Nebraska State Bar and a commitment to collaborative law principles.
