Associate Attorney

Description:

Small, busy, downtown general-practice law firm seeks a motivated, organized, detail-oriented individual for Associate Attorney position. The candidate will be working closely with the Firm's managing partner in various matters including civil litigation, family law, estates, property issues, and more. Must be organized, personable, motivated, responsible, customer service-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced environment.
Job Duties:

• Legal research and drafting of pleadings, motions, discovery, orders, memoranda, briefs, forms, and correspondence.
• Occasional court appearances in Guilford and other surrounding counties.
• Keeping of firm's calendar and client files, maintenance and organization of files and assistance with preparation for hearings and trials.
• Litigation experience or desire to litigate.
• Supervise and work closely with office staff to ensure diligent case management and high customer service standards.
• For highly qualified candidates, the ability to learn more about law firm business management.

Requirements:

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Admission to N.C. Bar (will consider candidates with pending admission).
• 0-3 years of legal experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft office suite of products (word & excel), email, google products, Adobe acrobat, etc.;
• Ability to maintain discretion and professionalism with all clients;
• Excellent writing and communications skills;
• Legal research experience and submission of a writing sample;
• Experience with CLIO or other law firm software a plus;
• Spanish-English bilingual candidates a huge plus, but not required.
