The University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria(UICOMP) is seeking board-certified or board-eligible pediatricians to fill onefull-time positions in the Department of Pediatrics' Hospitalist Division.
Join our dynamic and collegial team where the positionincludes exclusively academic teams for inpatient pediatric care on our generaland intermediate level units, newborn nursery, and the pediatric sedation team.Our team is committed to providing evidence based patient and family centeredcare while teaching medical students, pediatric (https://peoria.medicine.uic.edu/departments/pediatrics/residency/),medicine-pediatric, emergency medicine and family medicine residents, andfellows from our accredited Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) Fellowship. Academic time is protected and allows focuson teaching, curricular development, quality improvement, safety initiatives,mentorship, simulation based education and innovation. We collaborate with our medical and surgicalsubspecialties and serve as the primary admitting service for most medicalspecialties while providing consulting and co-management roles for our surgicalcolleagues.
Clinical activities of thefaculty are primarily concentrated at CHOI, which is the primary pediatricteaching facility for UICOMP and is a 132-bed facility that offers over 50pediatric programs and services. These programs represent over 100pediatric sub-specialists in 24 different disciplines, including the largestpediatric surgery program in Illinois. CHOI is the only full servicetertiary hospital for children in downstate Illinois with a children andadult congenital heart disease program, Illinois Perinatal Center, a Level IIIneonatal intensive care unit and is designated as a Level I trauma center. Wecollaborate routinely with Jump Simulation for education, teaching, researchand innovation, https://www.jumpsimulation.org.

Children's Hospital of Illinois providescomprehensive services to children, including Level IV NICU and astate-designated Pediatric Critical Care Center. Position Summary
Provide care to patients and instruction to learners.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide academic inpatient hospitalist services for patients at UICOMP's main clinical partner, OSF Children's Hospital of Illinois, a 132-bed, full-service hospital,
- Participate in undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs of the Department.
- Organize and conduct research or scholarly programs in pediatric hospital medicine.
- Perform other duties of a University faculty member including committee assignments, curriculum development, student counseling, and administration
Minimum Qualifications
- MD/DO degree
- Eligible for licensure in Illinois.
- Board certified in Pediatrics
- 3 years pediatric residency
