Description:
The Department of Mechanical and IndustrialEngineering at the University of Illinois Chicago invites applications for two tenure-trackfaculty positions in various areas of Mechanical Engineering including, but notlimited to, fluids, robotics, energy, and manufacturing. Computational, theoretical,and experimental scientists are all welcome to apply. Individuals will also beconsidered at associate or full professor rank if they possess outstandingqualifications commensurate with the rank.
TheDepartment offers BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering, andIndustrial Engineering and Operations Research, and currently has anundergraduate enrollment of about 800 and a graduate enrollment of about 280. Applicants are required tosend a letter of application indicating their qualifications, an up-to-date CVincluding the names and contact information of three references, and separateone-page statements outlining their future teaching and research plans. Qualifications:
Successful applicants are required to have an earned Ph.D.in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field and are expected todevelop and maintain an active, externally funded research program as well asteach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
