Assistant Yard Manager

Friedmans Home Improvement is looking for an Assistant Store Manager within the Santa Rosa Yard. The ASM is an active, visible leader, motivating, directing, and coaching Team Members. The ASM is responsible for not only leading Coordinators, DHs and TMs within the Yard, this Values based highly collaborative leader will influence decisions and partner constantly with the Logistics team, all business channels and support teams to achieve the best outcomes for the Company. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Key in the development of future leaders of the organization, the ASM sets the retail pace and expectations for the Yard through daily interactions and weekly meetings with Coordinator and Department Heads, coaching and developing these individuals to be successful day-to-day Values based leaders.

· Mentor, coach in the moment and train Team Members with product knowledge, technical and interpersonal skills to develop individuals through documented personal development plans and follow through to strengthen the team.

· Drive customer service and Team Member engagement throughout the Yard by working at the customer’s pace, through collaborative effort with key stakeholders in all business channels, to ultimately understand the customer, elevate the Yard and team.

· Business ownership through working knowledge of sales reporting, labor report, margin erosion, managed labor and how it relates to the Yard and store KPIs. Meet or exceed established sales and shrink goals.

· Define areas of operational opportunities, using critical thinking skills to strategize and provide solutions in achieving business channel and store goals to close gaps and meet store targets.

· Manager on Duty to include key carrier responsible for opening and closing building, all aspects of the facility and activities on-site during shift. Safety, security, emergencies, alarm and fire codes.

· Hours vary from 4:00am-9:00pm, Sunday through Saturday with variations as needed. Manager on Duty shifts are a requirement for this position, owning all aspects of the site, and will have monthly rotating morning, mid and closing shifts to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications/Experience:

· 5+ years in a retail environment. Minimum mid-level management background with exceptional supervisory skills. Experience in 2 or more Business Channels as a Department Head or higher position preferred. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· This position demands a highly collaborative, influential leader who can build and nurture relationships by partnering with all channels and departments within the organization as it pertains to the Yard.

· Active listening skills to understand the concerns of TMs and customers, producing outcomes that solve issues through the alignment of Company Values.

· Possess strong organizational and well-developed leadership skills with a solid understanding of FHI products, operational processes, policies, procedures, and software systems, with the ability to coach and mentor all levels of TMs.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
