SalaryWe are hiring for a first shift Assistant Manager at the Jupiter Rd., Garland, TX facility. The responsibility will be to assist in managing distribution operations, ensure positive employee engagement, and ongoing customer satisfaction. This full-time position will report to the Warehouse Manager and may occasionally require after-hours, weekends, and holidays.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Maintain, understand, and review codes, safety requirements, food safety, fire system, and security.
- Manage all safety-related documents and training required for each employee and the area covered.
- Responsible for building maintenance inspections, day-to-day concerns, and maintenance requests with follow-up.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, and customer system training.
- Cultivate and build a LEAN culture through process improvements and measurements.
- Oversee new hire orientation content for all employees and keep employee training up-to-date.
- Communicate a positive/equitable work environment with team members.
- Coach employees using established Team Norms, and completing BPM and expectation reviews with teams.
- Manage equipment needs and utilization as needed by understanding trend/business fluctuations.
- Execute cycle counting plans and maintain inventory accuracy to sustain the success of third-party inventory audits.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Basic math, reading, and writing skills to ensure accurate documentation.
- Understanding of technology equipment including tablets, scanning, WiFi, and customer systems/software.
- Desire to learn about new products, traceability requirements, and ongoing e-commerce initiatives.
- Ability to promote a team environment and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and written.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years previous leadership experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in warehouse environment.
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time through hot and cold temperatures, and safely lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to repetitively twist or turn to drive in reverse; and stand, climb, kneel, stoop, and squat, as needed.
- Ability to turn the steering wheel on a lift truck requiring full rotation of arms and shoulders.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform warehouse tasks for up to 12 hours in a single day.
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and uniforms that are provided by the company.
