JOB SUMMARY
The AVP Operations Excellence is responsible for leading and driving operational excellence initiatives across the organization, including improvement, project management, and change management activities. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, quality, and profitability. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, a strong background in operations management, and a proven track record of implementing process improvement methodologies.
1. Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and implement the organization's Operations Excellence strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiency and excellence.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence throughout the organization.
2. People leadership
  • Lead a team of 8-12 direct and indirect reports
  • Provide guidance as leader, setting goals, driving accountability, managing performance, and aiding in our peoples’ development
  • Develop with skillset and understanding of process improvement methodologies within the team
3. Process Improvement:
  • Analyze current processes, identify bottlenecks, and develop solutions to optimize operations and improve efficiency.
  • Implement process improvement methodologies, such as Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other relevant frameworks.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to streamline workflows, eliminate waste, and reduce costs while maintaining quality standards.
4. Performance Metrics and Analytics:
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure operational performance and track progress towards goals.
  • Utilize data analytics and business intelligence tools to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement.
  • Regularly report on performance metrics to senior leadership and recommend actions for improvement.
5. Change Management:
  • Lead change management initiatives related to operational excellence, ensuring smooth implementation and adoption across the organization.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to communicate changes, address concerns, and manage resistance to change effectively.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance operational skills and create a culture of continuous improvement.
6. Project Management
  • Lead the project management function for the Operations team, working collaboratively with Supply Chain and corporate functions for seamless integration
  • Report on project status, milestones, barriers, and financials
  • Liaise with IT on the implementation of major technology changes
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with various departments, including finance, supply chain, human resources, and IT, to align operational strategies and drive process improvements.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders and serve as a trusted advisor on operational matters.
  • Facilitate cross-functional teams and meetings to drive collaboration and ensure effective implementation of initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field required
  • Master's Degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field preferred
WORK EXPERIENCE
  • 10+ years Relevant experience required
  • Proven experience in operations management, process improvement, or related roles required
  • Demonstrated experience in driving operational excellence initiatives and achieving measurable results required
