Job Summary:

To assist in the leadership of Academic Affairs in order to continually improve teaching and learning. This position will supervise and lead major units and initiatives within Academic Affairs to include academic assessment, library services, tutoring services, and distance education toward the accomplishment of College goals.

Job Duties:

Responsible for collaborative planning and communication across the college related to academic assessment, library services, tutoring services, and distance education. Provide leadership, guidance, supervision, and support for staff in the Office of Library Services and Learning Resources, Office of Learning Commons, Office of Distance Learning, the Teaching and Learning Center, and the Office of Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs. Assist the VPAA in reviewing and maintaining strategic planning and continuous improvement processes for Academic Affairs, including Academic Program Reviews, General Education Reviews, and the University Parallel Review. Maintain the inventory of off-campus instructional offerings and coordinate the new site development and approval processes with the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC), and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), including coordinating site-related substantive change notifications and approval requests with the Office of the Vice President of Research, Assessment, and Special Initiatives (RASI). In conjunction with the Coordinator of Academic Affairs Support, assist the Vice President for Academic Affairs with curriculum processes, including curriculum forms, curriculum committee processes, new program development, and program approval and discontinuance processes, including coordinating program-related substantive change notifications and approval requests with the Office of Vice President for RASI. Coordinate the development of articulation agreements with outside colleges and universities. Provide leadership and support for the schedule development process and the coordination of academic space. In conjunction with the Coordinator of Academic Affairs Initiatives, assist deans and department chairs with using schedule analytics tools to analyze and optimize class schedules relative to student enrollment patterns, reviewing submitted schedules for accuracy and efficiency. Oversee the process and approvals for Academic suspension appeals and develop programs for students not in good academic standing. Assist the VPAA with policy revision and development, updating handbooks, and other documents as needed. Serves as designee for the VPAA as needed. Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
A minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience.
Five years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Doctoral degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
A minimum of three (3) years of experience with increasing responsibility including, for example, positions as Chair, Asst. Dean, Dean, - and other relevant administrative experience.
Experience with academic scheduling.
Experience with accreditation standards and substantive change policy and processes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must be a willing advocate of the mission of the college.
Must have strong leadership, human relations, and communications skills, including effective public speaking skills.
Strong computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Office products, ERP solutions, and other related software.
Excellent organization skills along with being detailed oriented.
Demonstrated commitment to excellence.
Ability to understand and use data in decision-making.
Experience writing grants.
Ability to manage sensitive information with the highest degree of confidentiality; exceptional customer services skills; and possess the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, excellent management and team building skills, and top-notch organizational skills.
A demonstrated commitment to public higher education.

Pay Rate: $88,431 - $110,544 annual salary depending on experience
