Compensation:
Assistant Transit Management Analyst I (TA): $62,471 - $73,956
Assistant Transit Management Analyst II (TA): $72,534 - $80,784
Associate Transit Management Analyst (TA): $81,994 - $106,164
Responsibilities:
The position will provide support to the managers and supervisors at the East New York Maintenance Shop, including but not limited to improving transit operations and administrative procedures by organizing and maintaining confidential employee personnel files; create spreadsheets from Peoplesoft query output for employee training, procurement, responding to revenue car customer complaints, preparing scopes of work and specifications for shop equipment purchases, preparing morning reports, maintaining employee Emergency Contact information; auditing time cards weekly by comparing them to the Automated Timekeeping System (ATS) to check for accuracy and get any discrepancies corrected; handle prior period payroll corrections; handle employee sick leave forms, vacation scheduling, payroll inquiries, distribute employee paychecks; distribute employee passes, etc. The selected candidate will gather and evaluate pertinent data, process reports, prepare summaries using queries, charts and graphs.
Education and Experience:
Assistant Transit Management Analyst 1 & Assistant Transit Management Analyst II:
- A master's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and at least one year of full-time satisfactory professional experience in the collection, evaluation and use of data relating to operational procedures, administrative systems, equipment and space utilization, and staffing requirements, including the preparation of charts, graphs, drawings and technical reports; or
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in one of the areas listed in "1" above; and two years of full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1" above.
Associate Transit Management Analyst:
- A master's degree from an accredited college in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and two years of full-time satisfactory professional experience in the collection, evaluation and use of data relating to operational procedures, administrative systems, equipment and space utilization, and staffing requirements, including the preparation of charts, graphs, drawings and technical reports. One year of experience must have been in the mass transportation industry; or
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in one of the areas listed in "1" above; and three years of full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1" above. One year of this experience must have been in the mass transportation industry.
Desired Skills:
- Strong problem-solving analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent PCC skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
Selection Method:
Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.
All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
