This job contributes to Starbucks success by providing advanced support of a highly confidential and complex nature as assistant to the Regional CEO, North America, exercising judgement and discretion in line with our mission and values. This role will plan, implement, and direct multiple concurrent activities that support company and business unit/department programs, processes, and objectives. This role communicates with both internal partners, leaders, and external customers, including high level executives and members of the Board of Directors. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

As an assistant to the regional ceo, North America, you will…
  • Analyze business materials and company communications, leverage observations to inform decision making and execute tasks strategically to all stakeholders.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities proactively and recommend solutions with confidence to promote operational efficiencies across the business unit.
  • Drive deadlines and deliverables while adapting to ambiguity, changing business needs or expectations; check in with support team to provide guidance and delegates as needed.
  • Analyze incoming and outgoing business materials, company communication, and leverage observations to inform decision making and strategic execution of task to all stakeholders.
  • Manage, adapt, and adjust priorities proactively in an ever-changing work environment while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
  • Manage long-term view of calendars strategically by collaborating across the enterprise to drive efficiency and understanding executive’s priorities.
  • Utilize project management skills to drive high-level projects, events, and key business deliverables at an enterprise level, cascade pertinent information and communications to appropriate groups.
  • Own and cascade rhythm of the business calendar to department support team and team members as appropriate; utilize this tool to drive successful execution of business priorities and deliverables. Ideate and implement programs for the leader and/or organization.
  • Role-model and coach behaviors and practices that demonstrate what it means to live within our Starbucks Mission & Values.
  • Build strong and trusting relationships across the enterprise and externally; creates opportunities across the enterprise for growth and connection.
  • Act as a trusted leader and mentor for admin team by regularly engaging and cascading information, actively participating in hiring, developing talent, and admin calibration sessions, while creating space for growth and development of others.

We’d love to hear from people with:
  • Progressive administrative experience. (8+ years)
  • Providing support to C-Suite level executives (5+ years)
  • Experience managing calendars and email on MS Outlook (7+ years)
  • Project or event management (7+ years)
  • Domestic and international travel arrangement (7+ years)
  • Expert level proficiency with Microsoft 360 applications
  • Adaptability - able to execute with flexibility in responding to constantly changing environment.
  • Collaboration - demonstrate confidence, composure, and professionalism; able to build trust with internal and external customers.
  • Communication - able to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbal and written with attention to details
  • Customer Service - demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude with the desire to take on additional responsibilities, consistently delivers high quality customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Organization - excellent organizational skills and high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information with superior attention to detail
  • Problem Solving - critical thinking and strong analytical skills; able to proactively anticipate needs and use sound judgment.
  • Technology - advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and virtual tools.
  • Time Management - able to balance multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines and follow through on commitments.
