We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our team. As an Assistant Teacher, you will work closely with the lead teacher to create a positive and engaging learning environment for our students. Duties:
- Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans
- Provide individualized support to students with special needs, including those with autism
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
- Assist with classroom management and behavior guidance
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to assess student progress and provide feedback to parents
- Support students in developing literacy, math, and social skills
- Assist with daily routines, including mealtime, naptime, and outdoor play
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in early childhood education or related field preferred. Child Care Basics training 30 hours required per licensing.
- Experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices
- Familiarity with special education strategies and accommodations
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children
