Assistant Supervisory Nurse (Operating Room) - Direct Hire

This position is located at Phoenix Indian Medical Center (PIMC), in Phoenix, AZ. The incumbent serves as Assistant Supervisory Clinical Nurse responsible for assisting with all aspects of managing the Operating Room (OR), and assisting in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and Central Sterile & Receiving (CSR) and provides leadership, direction, and technical expertise in the delivery of nursing services. This position reports to the Supervisory Nurse of Integrated Surgical Services onsite.

• Education:
  • A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. In addition to the above requirements, applicants must meet one of the following requirements, OR

Completed a degree from Foreign Nursing School and have an Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools.
Licensure: Applicants must have active, unencumbered, current registration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, GS-0610-11:Your resume must demonstrate at least one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-9 grade level) in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples Include: Considered an expert in Operating Room nursing practice, including scrubbing and circulating nursing services; provides leadership, direction, and technical expertise in the planning development, implementation, and evaluation of the delivery of nursing services; promote the professional practice of nursing using evidence-based practice principles and professional peer review.
OR
Completed a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field.. (Must provide evidence with your application documents if qualifying using this option)
Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).Education: This position has an education requirement.
