Works closely with the Retail Manager in day to day operations. Manage cash, employee attendance,
revenue assurance and opening/closing of the store. Ensure a safe, clean, and interesting store lay-out
and merchandising. Help customers find the best products to suit their individual needs and ensure
efficient, courteous handling of customer request.
- Drives sales success by implementing strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales, and
increase profitability - Assist Retail Manager with product evaluation. Provide input and assist Retail Manager in purchasing
and planning decisions - Assist Retail Manager with employee training, development and motivation
- Educate customers on products and services
- Assist with in-store merchandising
- Order, receive, and maintain inventory
- Open and/or close the store as needed
- Ensure completion of daily and weekly tasks for the gift shop and sales associates
- Responsible for managing the Gift shop in the absence of the Retail Manager
- Maintain retail stock inventories between the warehouse, main building, tour boats, and island lodge
- Work directly with accounting department to provide cash accountability
- Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor; ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff, affiliated-company employees, and outside business
associates - Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as a team environment
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills and be detail oriented
- Ability to make decisions, solve problems and exercise good judgment; ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload
- Ability to accurately use industry-standard computer software and learn inventory systems software
- Must be able to push, pull, carry, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, and
greater weights on an occasional basis - High School Diploma or equivalent combination of experience
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
