The Assistant Project Manager is responsible to provide administrative and technical support to the project’s team.

Essential Function:

  • Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Assist the Project Manager in all facets of the construction business cycle.
  • Execute and track all required Construction Project Documentation, such as Proposals, Letter of Intents, Subcontracts, Change Orders, Purchase Order, Drawings, Submittals, RFI's, Invoices, Lien Waivers, Certificates of Insurance, Close-out Documents, etc.
  • Attend meetings if needed and assist team with determination of project requirements
  • Assist the PM in the drafting and issuance of project proposals, contracts, RFP's, budgets, schedule of values, payment applications, etc.
  • Coordinate meetings and schedule site visits as requested by the Project Manager and the Project Superintendent.
  • Assist the Project Manager with tracking of progress and quality of work being performed by disciplines/trades.
  • Use project scheduling and control tools to assist with monitoring project plans, work hours, budgets, and expenditures.
  • Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the client and project team.
  • Ensure clients' needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Assist the Project Manager in the review of Contractor quotes to ensure fair and reasonable pricing is recommended for approval.
  • Prepare substantial completion certificates and ensure all required project close out documents are obtained.
  • Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude and developing this attitude in others.
  • Keep the Project Manager and others informed about project status and issues that may impact client satisfaction
  • Assist Project Manager and Project Superintendent with permitting and jobsite inspection procedures.

 

Education and Experience

  • BS degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or equivalent field of studies required and/or minimum of 5 years relative work history in the Construction Industry.
