Job SummaryKennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure track Assistant Professor or Associate Professorof Dance faculty position in the Department of Dance that begins August 2024.
ResponsibilitiesWe seek an outstanding dance artist/scholar with a record of accomplishment, an established professional reputation, and a clear trajectory for future excellence in teaching, scholarship and/or creative activity.
- Teaching undergraduate courses in dance technique, choreography, and/or other topics and approaches that align with the candidate's area of specialization.
- The teaching load is three courses per semester.
- Depending on the candidate's area of expertise, they will choreograph, or stage performance works on undergraduate dance majors.
- The candidate is expected to develop and maintain a peer-reviewed body of creative and/or scholarly activity.
- Department/College/University/professional service is expected.
- Additional departmental responsibilities include student success initiatives, recruitment, program development, and participation in department and university activities that serve programmatic goals and the mission of the university.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required QualificationsM.F.A or Doctoratedegree, or the foreign equivalent in Dance, or a related discipline, is required.
Preferred Qualifications- At least three years of collegiate teaching and mentoring experience.
- Established record of professional experience in the field.
- An active research portfolio of peer-reviewed scholarship/creative activity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
