Adams State University is a state-supported, regional comprehensive university located in the San Luis Valley of Southern Colorado and the city of Alamosa. As the state's premier Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) and a Minority Serving Institution (MSI), over 50 percent of its undergraduate students represent racially diverse backgrounds. A high percentage of undergraduate students are first-generation and Pell-eligible. The successful applicant will join a diverse close-knit department that offers bachelor's degrees in psychology, psychology with an emphasis in clinical, and a joint sports psychology program with our Kinesiology department. Although our department members are research active, Adams State
University is an institution primarily focused on teaching excellence, and the teaching load is comprised of 12 credit-hours each semester.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Ph.D. in Psychology by the time the position starts.
2. A strong focus on teaching and experience teaching psychology courses at the undergraduate level including face-to-face and online delivery modalities. While we are interested in generalists, teaching responsibilities will likely encompass the following courses: Introduction to Psychology, Social
Psychology, Multicultural Psychology, Psychology of Gender, Research
Methods and Psychological Statistics.
3. Demonstrates knowledge of, sensitivity to, and ability to work effectively with the educational needs of individuals and groups with a diverse range of identities, cultures, backgrounds, and abilities in a global environment.
4. Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the racial, socioeconomic, academic, and cultural diversity of Adams State University's student population, including students with different abilities (e.g., physical and or learning) as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practices
within the classroom.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Ability or evidence of potential to foster inclusive learning environments.
2. Experience working with historically under-served and/or underrepresented populations, and first-generation college students.
3. Evidence of valuing equity, treating cultural and linguistic diversity as assets, and sensitivity to and understanding of diverse students.

Salary and Benefits
The salary for the position is $48,000-$51,000 commensurate with experience and education.
