The Department of English at Colorado State University invites applications for an entry-level, tenure track Assistant Professor of English specializingin Creative Nonfiction Writing. We are seeking a writer with energy, vision, and a commitment to building excellence in our growing program in Creative Nonfiction. The successful candidate will be appointed untenured and at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August 16, 2024

Conditions of Employment Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires) Required Job Qualifications

  • MFA or PhD in English or related field at time of appointment.
  • Experience teaching at the college level.
  • A promising record of creative activity, scholarship, and contributions to the writing community.
  • At least one book of literary nonfiction (such as memoir, personal essay, lyric essay, narrative nonfiction) published by, or under contract with, a national press.

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Latinx, African American, Native American, Asian American, and LGBTQ, Environmental, and/or hybrid literature and writing.
  • Interest in, and the ability to teach, a range of approaches to literary nonfiction.
  • Applicants are encouraged to describe any additional teaching or scholarly interests and experiences.
