Supervision Received and Exercised
Reports directly to the Operations Coordinator and helps exercise supervision of staff on site when needed.
Physical Requirements
Ability to hike 5 miles at high elevation and stand for long periods of time. Ability to lift 25 pounds from ground level.
Essential Functions
An Assistant Operations Coordinator will be expected to do the following duties:
- Responsible for keeping site-specific live inventory organized and up to date.
- Updates Operations Coordinator of re-ordering needs and materials requests
- Coordinate with site staff when building changes and/or maintenance needs arise
- Keep up to date on student early departures/late arrivals and track current site total at all times. This includes keeping the live documents updated for the Operations Coordinator.
- Work with the program team to support any program alterations and/or weather accommodations.
- Work with the rest of the operations team directly to ensure materials are properly staged as needed for each activity.
- Responsible for coordinating busses and luggage on each program departure day.
- Ensures all materials and equipment are correctly organized and stored at the end of each program session.
- Help fill in teaching program on an as needed basis.
- Fill in for overnight on-call shifts on an as needed basis.
Qualifications
- Principles and Practices of sound business communication; correct English, including spelling grammar and punctuation.
- CPR and First Aid.
- Principles and Practices of public administration, including purchasing and the maintenance of public records.
- Research methods and analysis techniques.
- Basic principles and practices of effective leadership.
Education Training and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university with a major in natural sciences, education or a related. Two years of successful experience working with children in an organized camp setting.
Licenses Certificates & Special Requirements
- A valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurance under Emerald Cove Camp's vehicle insurance. Obtain a valid CPR and First Aid Certification and clear criminal history.
